CHAMPAGNE AGRAPART AVIZE AVIZE

Agrapart et Fils was founded in 1894 by Arthur Agrapart in the village of Avize. The tradition of crafting world class Chardonnay passed to his son Arthur in the 1950's, his son Pierre in the 1980's and then on to Pascal and Fabrice and has endured for over a century. Fabrice spent four decades as the force in the cellar crafting what is now recognized as one of the top growers in all of Champagne.

Fabrice has charted another path forward with his new, and highly ambitious project Agrapart Avize. The tone is forward looking with an eye to sustainable practices in harmony with the vineyard cycles. He is laser focused on celebrating the terroir he has come to know through his work with the family domain. Along with his partners, Emmanuel and Johanna, Fabrice is building a new winery, hotel/ restaurant and a new legacy. This winery is a new beginning with 100 years of experience and tradition. His new legacy is being written brick by brick and on his own terms.

Every effort is taken in the vineyard to ensure that work is done in sync with the rhythms of the season and in accordance with the specificity of each vineyard. The first wine, Atoma, is set to release in the summer of 2025 and will feature a perpetual reserve that was started in 2020. The grapes are all Grand Cru from Avize, Cramant, Oger and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. 50% of the blend will be bottled each year and then the stainless steel vat will be topped with the current vintage. 3 years of lees aging round out the creation of this wine. The initial bottles we have been able to try have been nothing short of exceptional. New cuvees live in tanks, bottles and barrels in the garage in Avize. Those too give us enormous hope for the future. 

Despite the newness of it all, Fabrice is one of the most celebrated winemakers in all of Champagne. His wines for years have graced top tables, wine lists and sell for sometimes astronomical prices at auction. He and his brother decided to split in 2020 to make way for the new generations of the Agrapart children to each have their own canvas to paint their next chapter. As for what is being created at Agrapart Avize, it couldn't be more exciting...
